Harvey Nichols has partnered with 'The World of Tim Burton,' a global exhibition making its final stop at the Design Museum in London. To celebrate the partnership, they teamed up with The Berry, a creative production studio, to create a curiously charming Christmas film for Harvey Nichols this festive season.
As Senior Motion Designer at the studio, I handled the majority of look development, shading and compositing for the short film across all shots, working closely alongside a character animator who led all rigging and animation for Robot Boy.
The film was rendered entirely in Cinema 4D using Redshift and composited in After Effects. Substance Painter was used for shading Robot Boy and various other props.
A peek behind the curtain: raw Cinema 4D viewport recordings, straight from the scene files that brought Robot Boy and his world to life, no polish, no post, just the shots as they looked while the film was being built.
